There are only a handful restaurants in Fairfield County that really do traditional Spanish tapas the right way!  Our favorite, hands down, is Taberna in Bridgeport, CT.  They have such a great variety of tapas – from traditional to modern.  They also have homemade pastas that are just out of this word, fantastic entrees, and even delicious desserts!  The food always is beyond our expectations… and as people who like to cook, it’s hard to impress us.  So trust us, the food is AMAZING and worth every penny!

Their wine menu is also something to get excited about!  With a wide variety of Spanish wines categorized by region, it’s truly the best way to have a really authentic Spanish meal.  Their wines are also very reasonable and range from about $22-$45 per bottle.  Of course there are more expensive bottles, but there is a great variety in the $22-$45 range.

Eggplant Cannelloni – Prepared with roasted eggplant, sun dried tomatoes, Mozzarella cheese topped with light pesto

Carpaccio – Thin sliced of Strip Steak served with baby arugula salad, drizzled with lemon extra virgin olive oil and Parmesan cheese

Ricotta Gnocchi – Handmade little pillows of fresh ricotta cheese, reggiano parmigiana, with Black Angus beef Bolognese sauce

Tortellini – Hand-twisted tortellini stuffed duck comfit, fresh ricotta cheese and fine herbs in a brown butter sauce

Veal Milanese – Light breaded with fresh foccaccio crumbs, served over baby arugula Fresh tomatoes, extra Virgin olive oil and fresh garlic
