On a cold, snowy winter day, there are few things like a cup of great hot chocolate to hit the spot.  On one of those days recently, I had the genius idea to head over to Chocopologie in South Norwalk to get a cup of hot chocolate.  If you’ve ever had the chocolate from Chocopologie, you can imagine how good that same chocolate would be if it were heated up and served in a large mug…

If you have never ventured there to sample their offerings, hopefully the pictures will be worth a thousand words!  There is no shortage of delicious goodies in this authentic chocolate shop.

The chocolate produced by Fritz Knipschildt, the founder and owner of Knipschildt Chocolatier, has been voted one of the three best chocolates in the world by Gourmet Magazine!  Fritz moved to the USA from Denmark back in 1996, started his company in 1999 and opened Chocopologie in 2005.  All of the ingredients in the chocolate are all natural and artisan.  All of the confections are made by hand as well.

This is a great option for a Valentine’s Day gift as well as any occasion!  I bought Cristina a box a couple years ago and she still talks about it as one of her favorite chocolates ever!  By the way, they also have a full cafe with soups, sandwiches, crêpes, salads, and of course desserts!
