A few weeks ago, we had the absolute pleasure of attending a culinary class at the Clarke Showroom in South Norwalk, CT.  We were completely blown away!!  Between the facility, the chef, the wine… and, of course… the food, we truly enjoyed the whole experience.

The Clarke Culinary Center is nestled inside the inspiring showrooms of Clarke, New England’s exclusive distributor for high-performance appliances from Sub-Zero, Wolf and Asko. For years, showroom visitors asked Clarke to offer cooking classes due to its depth of knowledge about culinary arts. In 2009, Clarke tested a short series of cooking classes with local celebrity chefs and received rave reviews. Months later they launched two Clarke Culinary Centers, one in South Norwalk (SoNo), CT and another in Milford, MA.

The wealth of culinary talent in local and regional restaurants, in addition to the creativity of Clarke’s in-house corporate chefs, has resulted in a robust, educational and entertaining experience for Clarke Culinary Center visitors.

Have a free afternoon?  Take a trip over to the showroom.  You’ll die when you see these kitchens.  I wanted EVERYTHING!!  Here’s a peek at some of the amazing kitchen concepts we got to preview.  The cool thing about the showroom is that everything is fully operational.  So it’s the full shopping experience.

The chef guest Chef Pietro Scotti from Da Pietro’s in Westport, CT.  We’ve always wanted to visit his restaurant, so we jumped at the chance to have such an intimate class with him.   Chef Pietro is the total package.  #1) He’s Italian.  #2) He’s funny and charming.  #3) He’s incredibly talented.  #4)  He’s a true entertainer!

As soon as the seats filled (there’s only usually about 8-10 people in a class), we were ready for dinner!  Course 1 was a beautiful fresh bruschetta over arugula.  Course 2 was mushroom and leek strudel.  So delicious!  The strudel was out of this world.  And the best part, everyone was provided with all of the recipes we made throughout the course of the evening!

This recipe is definitely a keeper!

Chef Pietro’s homemade wine!

On to course 3… Risotto con Carciofi.  A great recipe idea for Mother’s Day!

For our main course, Stuffed Roasted Leg of Spring Lamb.  We’ve never tasted lamb like this!

And finally, for dessert … Chocolate Soufflé.  You know me and my chocolate!  I couldn’t resist.

As you can see from the pictures, we really had such a fun time.  Because the setting is so intimate, you really are able to truly enjoy the company of the other guests and the chef.  You can ask questions as you go and learn all the tips & tricks from the best chefs around!

We look forward to doing this again – and we definitely recommend you try it!  This would make the perfect gift.  The evening includes dinner, the recipes, wine, etc.  I’ll be definitely be doing a girl’s night here in the near future!  We loved Chef Pietro Scotti and we hope to meet some of the other amazing chefs soon!
