Before Washington Prime even opened in South Norwalk, CT, Jeff and I had been eyeing the beautiful space and watching it morph into the fantastic “New American” restaurant it turned out to be. Located at the corner of Water Street and Washington Street, this restaurants brings something new and exciting to South Norwalk. Big flavors, a fun take on classic dishes, unique cocktails, and the vibe ties it all together.
There’s very few things we DIDN’T try on the menu and there’s really something for everyone. Don’t eat fish? Try their delicious steaks! Don’t eat meat? Try the grouper or the scallops! You really won’t be disappointed.
Here’s what we started with for appetizers. The big highlights included the Burrata, Poutine (yes, POUTINE), and the Knuckle & Claw. But the real star was the Octopus made with pickled peppers, duck fat marble potato, and pepper emulsion. Just like being back in Portugal!
And the eating continued with 2 salads, then came the big guns. We enjoyed THREE different kinds of USDA Prime Steaks and two seafood dishes. It was hard to pick favorites here, but I would say Scallops and the 8 oz. Filet Mignon were the rock stars.
After all that food and great wines, it was hard to THINK about finding room for dessert. But when the desserts were set on the table, it was hard … actually… it was impossible to say no.
We absolutely recommend Washington Prime, not only for the food and beverage, but the atmosphere.
