Clarke Culinary Center with Chef Pietro Scotti

A few weeks ago, we had the absolute pleasure of attending a culinary class at the Clarke Showroom in South Norwalk, CT.  We were completely blown away!!  Between the facility, the chef, the wine… and, of course… the food, we truly enjoyed the whole experience. The Clarke Culinary Center is nestled inside the inspiring showrooms of Clarke, New England’s exclusive distributor for high-performance appliances from Sub-Zero, Wolf and Asko. For years, showroom visitors asked Clarke to offer cooking classes due to its depth of knowledge about culinary arts. In 2009, Clarke tested a short series of cooking classes with local

Date Night @ the New MATCH in SoNo

To celebrate our 3 month wedding countdown this past Saturday night, we decided to visit one of our top favorite restaurants in southern CT – and that’s Match in South Norwalk.  As many of you have heard, Match recently got a little “face lift”.  Although the restaurant hasn’t changed in a big way, the little changes really gave the place a new, exciting feel.  Since we go to Match often and there are a lot of staple items we love, we were happy to see a mix of some fantastic new dishes along with our classic favorites. Dishcrawl was started in 2010 in San Francisco and its a national company. Dishcrawls are held in NYC, LA, Chicago all major markets across the U.S. Dishcrawls are hosted about once a month in Fairfield County. Before expanding to SoNo Dishcrawled toured through Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Stamford,

Mama’s Boy Southern Table & Refuge – SoNo

It seems like every time we drive by this particular spot in South Norwalk by the Maritime Aquarium, it’s a different restaurant.  Which is too bad because it’s in a great location and a beautiful building.  We’ve been living in SoNo for almost 3 years now and we’ve never visited any of the previous restaurants that were there. But when we saw the new Mama’s Boy signs being put up, the name itself intrigued us. Then when we realized it was southern style food, we were definitely excited to check it out. As people who cook, we get excited to go

NOLA: Bringing the Big Easy to SoNo

There are few cuisines that are under-represented in Fairfield County.  One of these is Cajun food made famous in New Orleans and the surrounding areas.  A blend of French, Caribbean and other European and African elements, Cajun cuisine is as warm and comforting as the area where it hails from.  As you can imagine, we were thrilled to hear that a New Orleans inspired restaurant opened recently in South Norwalk.  Cristina and I had a unique opportunity to get a chance to try quite of the few items that the chef, Dan Kardos has created that blend classic Cajun dishes
