Before Washington Prime even opened in South Norwalk, CT, Jeff and I had been eyeing the beautiful space and watching it morph into the fantastic “New American” restaurant it turned out to be. Located at the corner of Water Street and Washington Street, this restaurants brings something new and exciting to South Norwalk. Big flavors, a fun take on classic dishes, unique cocktails, and the vibe ties it all together. There’s very few things we DIDN’T try on the menu and there’s really something for everyone. Don’t eat fish? Try their delicious steaks! Don’t eat meat? Try the grouper or the scallops!
To celebrate our 3 month wedding countdown this past Saturday night, we decided to visit one of our top favorite restaurants in southern CT – and that’s Match in South Norwalk. As many of you have heard, Match recently got a little “face lift”. Although the restaurant hasn’t changed in a big way, the little changes really gave the place a new, exciting feel. It seems like every time we drive by this particular spot in South Norwalk by the Maritime Aquarium, it’s a different restaurant. Which is too bad because it’s in a great location and a beautiful building. We’ve been living in SoNo for almost 3 years now and we’ve never visited any of the previous restaurants that were there. But when we saw the new Mama’s Boy signs being put up, the name itself intrigued us. Then when we realized it was southern style food, we were definitely excited to check it out.
