Saltwater Farm Vineyard – Stonington

Last week we stopped by Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington, CT on our way to visit our friends in Massachusetts.  We had never tried the wines there, so we were excited to check it out! The place itself is very impressive.  It has a gorgeous interior that’s very modern and sophisticated.  Makes for a great venue 😉 Upon walking in, you are greeted with a plethora of bottles that line the walls and a cozy fireplace.  It was a cold day, so the fireplace was certainly inviting! The Spritz (German: “splash” / “sparkling”) is a wine-based cocktail commonly served as an aperitif in northern Italy, especially in the Veneto region and surrounding areas. The drink is prepared with white wine (generally a Pinot Grigio delle tre Venezie or Tocai) or Prosecco wine, a dash of some bitter liqueur such as Aperol, Campari, Gran Classico, Select or Cynar. The glass is then topped off with sparkling mineral water.
